Chairman: John Patrick
Although only recently taking up the sport of archery (April 2023), I have established myself within the male 50+ recurve class. Presently, I hold 2 NI records.
I also shoot with NIFAA, and besides holding records, I also hold the NI Indoor Championships (2025) and recently the UK and all Ireland Field Championships (2025) within the veteran male freestyle recurve category.
Prior to archery, I competed internationally in sailing competitions and held the Irish Champion position for 6 years.
Whilst mainly shooting recurve, I also shoot barebow and compound.
From an organisational aspect, I am qualified to MBA level and have held numerous managerial positions during my working life.
I previously served as Chairman for Belfast Lough Sailability, a charity set up for disabled/disadvantaged individuals of all ages, to have the opportunity to get on the water. During this tenure I was involved in all aspects of the organisation from volunteer training, funding, event organisation and acquisitions. I still volunteer with this organisation.
I believe the above experience would provide NI archers with a chairman who would adopt a fresh, structured and all round approach to the position.
Vice Chair and Treasurer: Darren Haveron
I have been involved in Archery NI for over 21 years, and I strongly believe in integrity, honesty and transparency with fairness applied to all situations . I will stand up against wrongful and unfair actions.
In my Archery journey, I have held roles on committees such as Chairperson, Tournament Officer, Development Officer, and Premises Officer.
I strongly believe for a committee to be successful, members must help each other in their roles, and must fully engage with the membership who has trusted them to their position.
During my Archery journey, I have been lucky to have represented Archery NI, which I hold in high esteem. In that time, I have been a coach and a mentor to others in their Archery journeys.

Tournament Officer: Graham Patterson
Graham can often be found at field competitions helping all he can as IT support for his local club. He has great experience using software, such as Ianseo, and would be confident in setting up a website for Archery NI and has plenty of experience working on underlying technologies from the very beginning of the internet. Although he’s not an archer, the above skills and time spent around the archery world make him an ideal candidate for this role.

Regional Senior Team Manager and safeguarding: Carl Bryer
Carl has been involved in Archery for many years. He contracts to AGB as a Pathway Coach, and for the past 7 years has been Recurve Technical Support and Coach. He is a World Archery Level 3 Coach, Korean Level 3 Coach and is an AGB Level 3 Coach Candidate. He coaches adults 1 to 2 days a month from Lisburn and Muckamore, half Recurve and half Barebow disciplines. He will soon be attending his second World Archery Coaching Conference with Lloyd Brown. The upcoming conference will mainly be about supporting athletes and teams.
